Effective Learning: 6 Techniques to Prevent Cognitive Overload

When learning something new whether at school or at the workplace, it is common to feel overwhelmed with new knowledge. We usually only remember bits and pieces of information when we are learning about it for the first time.
As educators, we constantly try to improve our teaching strategies to support learning. I chose to share this post about cognitive theory and simple yet effective techniques to reduce cognitive overload. In the below flow chart, I present a part of what I have learned about multimodality and the impacts it has on learning.
